Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Formatting: Manuscripts must strictly adhere to the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition guidelines. A standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point) should be used with double line spacing. A template is available for download here.
  • Title: Provide a concise and representative title. It should reflect the study's main variables, innovation focus, and methodology. The title should be free of unnecessary words (ideal length is 15–20 words).
  • Abstract: Include a structured abstract of 200–250 words. The abstract must be structured under the following subheadings:
    • Purpose: Clearly state the research objective and the specific educational problem addressed.
    • Method: Describe the research design, participants, and data collection tools.
    • Findings: Summarize the main findings with specific data/statistics, without interpretation.
    • Conclusion: Present the primary contribution, implications, and recommendations.
  • Keywords: Provide 4 to 6 keywords that are specific enough to aid in indexing (e.g., "Augmented Reality" instead of just "Technology").

2. Manuscript Length

To encourage deep theoretical analysis and comprehensive reporting of innovative practices, the total length of the manuscript—including the title, abstract, main text, references, and appendices—must be between 8,000 and 15,000 words.

3. Manuscript Structure

For research articles, the manuscript should be organized into the following sections:

  • 1. Introduction: Present the problem statement, the gap in existing literature, the study's originality, and the research questions.
  • 2. Literature Review / Theoretical Framework: Synthesize relevant studies critically rather than just listing them. Explicitly state the theoretical framework (e.g., TPACK, Cognitive Load Theory) guiding the study.
  • 3. Methodology: Detail the research design, participants (sampling method), data collection instruments (validity/reliability), and data analysis procedures to ensure reproducibility.
  • 4. Findings: Present the results objectively using text, tables, and figures. Do not interpret the results in this section.
  • 5. Discussion: Interpret the findings in light of the literature and theoretical framework.
  • 6. Conclusion: Summarize the main takeaways.
  • 7. Practical Implications & Limitations: Provide concrete suggestions for educators or policymakers and honestly address the study's limitations.
  • 8. Future Research: Suggest future studies based on the limitations.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Placement: Tables and figures should be embedded in the text, close to where they are first cited.
  • Captions: Follow APA 7 standards: Table titles must be placed above the table, and Figure captions must be placed below the figure.
  • Quality: High-resolution images should be used.

5. Declarations (Mandatory)

All manuscripts must include a "Declarations" section at the end of the main text, before the References. This section includes:

  • Funding: Disclose any financial support with project numbers (e.g., "This study was supported by [Institution Name] under grant number [Number]").
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
  • AI Usage Declaration: Authors must explicitly state whether Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) were used in the writing or analysis process.
  • Authors' Contributions: Specify the contribution of each author (e.g., Conceptualization: Author A; Analysis: Author B).

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Ethics Committee Approval: For all research involving human participants, obtaining explicit approval from an Ethics Committee is mandatory.
  • Reporting: The manuscript must state the name of the Ethics Committee, the date of approval, and the approval number (e.g., "Approval No: 2024/15") in both the Methodology and Declarations sections.

7. Submission Process (Blind Review)

JEIP uses a double-blind peer review process. Therefore, authors must submit two separate files:

  1. Title Page (Separate File): Includes the title, all author names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, acknowledgments, and contact details.
  2. Main Manuscript (Blinded): Contains the full text but excludes any information that could identify the authors (names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or explicit self-citations).

8. References

References must be listed in alphabetical order and strictly follow APA 7th edition standards. Ensure that every in-text citation has a corresponding entry in the reference list.

9. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo an initial editorial check for scope and plagiarism (iThenticate). Manuscripts passing this stage are assigned to at least two independent reviewers for a double-blind review. Authors will typically receive an initial decision or feedback within six weeks.
